Our Story
In 2011, Carolina Tinoco and Mariela Martínez, founders of the civil association ECODAR, invited me to collaborate on a project with the Chacao Municipality. ECODAR managed a space where they offered practical workshops every weekend, teaching the community to create products through upcycling, giving waste materials a new purpose.
Later, the school supplies company Solita approached us to develop an ecological awareness program for schools across Venezuela. The goal was to educate students and teachers about sustainability in preparation for the launch of their new line of eco-friendly products.
For this project, we collaborated with experienced teachers to design two educational guides. We organized workshops to train two thousand teachers, who then implemented the program, reaching twenty thousand students nationwide. This marked the beginning of Rescue the Planet and my involvement in the initiative.
